People of Pantree: Daryl Robbie

People of Pantree: Daryl Robbie

We're excited to share this month's *People of Pantree series* where we highlight and show appreciation for the members of our awesome team. For the month of February, we have a ray of sunshine in his own right! Daryl is one of our OGs and is very deserving of this recognition for his work ethic and great energy! Everyone asked about Daryl said the same wonderful things--that he's always ready to help where needed, greets everyone with a smile and a joke, and is an asset to our team for his consistency and reliability.

We are so lucky to have Daryl on our team! We hope you enjoy getting to know a little bit more about the People of Pantree through his interview.

1. What is your favourite movie?
Kingdom of Heaven by Ridley Scott. The director’s cut. If you know, you know.

2. What's your go-to hype song?
AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’.

3. What TV show are you bingeing right now?
I don’t really watch TV, but when I did, I was into crime shows like CSI or NCIS.

4. Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I love to sing and I used to do so quite frequently. Karaoke was a big deal in my
twenties and up to my forties. My stepmom started me singing at a young age. She
used to teach me new songs every summer. It kind of pushed me toward singing in
a choir and then to just singing in general later on in life.

5. Where is your favourite place to be?
Manitoulin Island. It will always have a special place in my heart.

6. If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing from the warehouse,
what would it be?
Balderson cheese. I love cheese and that one is the bomb.

7. What’s one product we don’t have that you wish we would add?
Macintosh toffee. I grew up on it. Love it.

8. What do you do to make yourself feel better after a hard workday?
I sit and have a coffee with my wife. She’s my favourite person in this world and is
one of the few people who “gets me”.

9.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Blacksmithing. I like to work with my hands and that’s about as raw as it gets.

10. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Spend some time figuring out what to do with it, then retire to the mountains.

11.
How did you get hired at Pantree and/or how did you find out about
the job?
I was originally with Mr. Case for ten years. I left just after GoJava took over, but I
came back about five months later. My new venture had fall through and the
powers that be welcomed be back. Been here ever since, and I’m glad to be here.

Until next time,
The Pantree Team
